Bishop Sullivan High School was opened by the Catholic Archdiocese of Baton Rouge in 1983. The school was named after Bishop Joseph V. Sullivan in honor of the late bishop. However, in 2005, allegations arose concerning sexual abuse and the school decided to change it's name to the name that had been originally chosen for the school before it was build; St. Michael the Archangel High School. The school serves 9th -12th graders and is considered a co-ed college preparatory school. The school is located at 17521 Monitor Avenue.
